Chantrice Rachelle

Artist Biography

Chantrice Rachelle is a visual artist born in Atlanta, GA. Through abstract works and pop-inspired compositions, her work explores love and heartbreak, nostalgia of childhood and adolescence, and the healing seasons that shape us. Her earliest memory of art is scribbling on the yellow wall of her childhood home with a green marker–a moment of pure instinctive expression that quietly foreshadowed the artist she would become. From a young age, she recognized the power of her artistic gift. Selling her first piece of art at the age of 8, and having her artwork showcased at Atlanta's Fort McPherson Army Base during Elementary School instilled in her a sense of purpose with art. Even as she later pursued a bachelor’s degree in business and a master’s degree in information technology, that creative impulse never left. Art remained her refuge, her coping mechanism, and the place she returned to whenever life couldn’t be put into words.

In 2020, a spiritual turning point shifted her trajectory and led her to embrace art not just as a pastime, but as a calling. Her practice is guided by intuition, emotional truth, and personal symbolism. Whether exploring Matters of the Heart–a long-standing theme in her work–or reconnecting with her inner child through color, line, and memory, her art reflects the nonlinear nature of healing, and the grace required to move through it.

Chantrice’s pieces often carry a sense of introspection and emotional mapping. She views her work as a living archive of becoming: a blend of lived experience and the desire to rewrite narratives that once felt fixed. By channeling both vulnerability and resilience, she creates visual spaces where viewers can locate their own stories and their own healing.

Her artwork has been collected privately throughout the United States and internationally, including in Nairobi, Kenya. Chantrice continues to expand her creative voice, using art as a bridge–between past and present, current self and inner child, and the desire for connection, transformation, and solace.

Artist Statement

My work explores love and heartbreak, nostalgia, and inner-child healing through abstract and pop-inspired imagery. These themes live at the center of my practice, guiding how I translate emotion, nostalgic moments, and personal experience into visual form.

Abstraction is my primary language for emotional and visual expression. It allows me to create intuitively, free from the pressure of producing something literal or traditionally “pretty.” Through color, movement, and intuitive marking, I give shape to complex inner states–inviting curiosity, reflection, and personal interpretation. Rather than telling a fixed story, my abstract work creates space for viewers to locate their own experiences within the piece.

Pop-inspired imagery enters my practice as a vehicle for storytelling and nostalgia. Drawing from the cartoon imagery and visual language that shaped my childhood, I use pop references to explore deeper narratives around love, vulnerability, and emotional reflections. What appears playful or familiar on the surface often carries layered meaning beneath, creating a bridge between past and present.

As an artist, my practice is both personal and communal. Art serves as a freeing and healing outlet for me, while also functioning as a point of connection for others. I aim to create work that feels honest and emotionally resonant–art that encourages viewers and collectors to reflect, remember, and reconnect with their own inner being.

Through each piece, I invite viewers into a shared emotional landscape–one centered around nostalgia, the complexities of the heart, and healing.
