About

Chantrice Rachelle is a biomorphic abstract artist from Atlanta whose work explores the relationship between who we were and who we are, and how childhood continues to shape us. Through recurring themes of memory, nostalgia, love, and healing, she brings the past into conversation with the present.
Her practice shows how our childhood remains present throughout life, shaping our identities, relationships, fears, desires, softness, and the instincts we build just to survive. Working in acrylic and mixed media, she creates abstract formations she refers to as cells– intuitively built forms carrying emotion, memory, and experience the way the body carries everything it has ever known. Like the body, each of Chantrice’s pieces holds more than we may initially see. To view her work is to look at a living piece and see that everything we have ever felt is still alive somewhere inside us: joy, sorrow, love, and despair. Through her use of bold and vibrant colors, it is also an invitation to remember what it felt like to see the world with the wonder and curiosity of a child. Guided by reflection, introspection, and a deep commitment to inner child reconnection, her work invites viewers to locate something of their own story within each piece.
Her artwork has been collected privately throughout the United States and internationally, including in Nairobi, Kenya. Chantrice continues to expand her creative voice, using art as a bridge between past and present, adult self and inner child, and the desire for connection, solace, and transformation.
