Ascension
2026.
Acrylic marker on watercolor paper
12x9 in.
30.48 × 22.86 cm.
To ascend, we may find that we must depart from people, places, and/or things. When this year began, I decided that “ascension” was my word for the year, as I’d began to feel that elevation occurring in various aspects of my life. However, I also knew that to truly rise to who I am becoming, I would have to start a departure from the people, places, and things that no longer served me. The primary color palette is a nod to my inner child, the catalyst of this ascension.
